Why

The purpose of this exercise is to help participants identify the real owner of a problem in an agile setup. In traditional companies, managers “solved” problems, irrespective of whether they were the real owners of the problem. They examined the available facts and prescribed actions that, most often than not, left the root cause of the problem unaddressed. Through this exercise, teams, and managers can together isolate who the real problem owner is; understand what goals the solution needs to meet, and allow the said problem owner to take the necessary corrective actions.
