Six Thinking Hats
Why
Whenever we try to solve a problem in an organization, the biggest challenge is the lens through which we look at the problem. This exercise uses colored hats (see COMMENTS section below) to indicate the type of conversation one must have to solve a problem. The six thinking hats, as they’re called, help construct a balanced conversation that looks beyond drivers like the data available or the risks involved. They help stakeholders understand the emotions, plans, ideas, and benefits involved as well. Together, they help better predict the outcome of a particular idea or project.
